Recipe of the Month: Hibiscus and Rose Petal Iced Tea

Hibiscus and rose petal iced tea is the perfect simple tea to hydrate and relax. Rose petals have been used therapeutically — in teas, herbal remedies, and beauty products — all over the globe for centuries. The calming effects of the rose are balanced by the bold taste of the Hibiscus, which rejuvenates and invigorates the body.

Hibiscus and Rose Petal Iced Tea

Directions:

  1. Place the flowers in a large jar, or tea pot and pour just-boiled water over the top. Cover it and let steep for 30 minutes.

  2. Strain the tea through a fine mesh sieve over a bowl or another jar, then return the tea to the jar.

  3. Chill in the fridge and drink within 3 days, preferably within 2 to 3 days ahead of time.

Ingredients:

  • 3 tbsp dried organic hibiscus flower

  • 1 tbsp dried organic rose petals

  • 4 cups water

  • 1 tsp raw honey (optional)

Benefits: In traditional Chinese medicine, rose and hibiscus tea helps to stimulate the digestive system. These flowers also have elements that cool the body and temperature. Hibiscus flower can regulate body temperature, while rose is known to soothe and relax. These flowers are also rich in Vitamin C. Enjoy this effortlessly refreshing tea on a hot day!
