Recipe of the Month: Core Wellness Bone Broth

Bone broth is supremely nutritious - and delicious! It contains important vitamins and minerals to support gut health, and making a batch of it before the winter is the perfect way to fortify your immune system during cold and flu season. 

Core Wellness Bone Broth

Ingredients:

  • Bones or carcass (beef and chicken are popular choices)

  • 1 Onion (quartered)

  • 2 Carrots

  • 2 Celery stalks

  • 5-6 cloves fresh garlic

  • 2 Tablespoons peppercorns

  • 2 Tablespoons Tarragon

  • 2-3 Bay leaves

  • 2 Tablespoons fresh rosemary

  • 2 Tablespoons apple cider vinegar

Bone broth is rich in minerals that provide many benefits. It can aid in supporting the immune system, serves as an anti-inflammatory, and can help alleviate gut and joint pain.

Instructions:

  • Preheat oven to 450°F. Place bones and chopped carrots, onion, and garlic on a roasting pan and roast for 40 minutes, flipping halfway through.

  • Place the roasted and fresh ingredients in a slow cooker or crockpot with enough water to cover everything.

  • Cook on the lowest setting for 8-24 hours.

  • Strain, discard bones and vegetables.

  • Enjoy!
