In today’s fast and busy world, it seems there are just not enough hours in the day. To counter-act this stress, we invite you to experience the magic of slowing down through Qigong practices. This is a fun evening of community and self-healing led by PHS Acupuncturist, Sivan Dirks. Part of our ongoing series, Wise Medicine Evenings are held monthly at Portland Healing Space.
Qigong is an ancient Chinese healing modality that has been practiced for over 3ooo years. It is the practice of cultivating energy. Qi refers to the vital force that makes up everyone and everything in this world and beyond. Gong means work, cultivation, practice, and achievement through great effort. Together they describe a system for generating and building our own body, mind, and spirit.
Through gentle and easy to follow movements we will learn how to reconnect with our inner self and awaken the body’s own abilities to restore health, balance, inner peace and a sense of happiness and wellbeing. The class will focus on combining breath, movement and awareness to calm the mind, release blockages and restore balance from within.
The evening wll be led by Portland Healing Space acupuncturist, Sivan Dirks. Sivan is a Licensed Acupuncturist with the Oregon Medical Board and is Nationally Board Certified in Acupuncture by NCCAOM. She earned her Master's Degree in Acupuncture at Tri-State College of Acupuncture in New York, NY. Sivan also leads The Community Healing Project, group acupuncture and qigong sessions held Mondays from 9 -10:15 am & 4 -5 pm at Portland Healing Space.
