Holistic Pelvic Care™

Holistic Pelvic Care is a combination of physical and energetic tools developed by Tami Kent, M.S. Physical Therapy, and is designed to assess and then restore balance to the pelvic space of the female body. Beneficial to women of all ages, Holistic Pelvic Care relieves pelvic symptoms such as pain during sex, urinary leakage, chronic bladder or vaginal infections, uterine prolapse and menstrual pain. Holistic Pelvic care can also address postpartum recovery, a history of pelvic trauma or abuse, healing after pregnancy or preparing for pregnancy.

This course of treatment balances the pelvis through such techniques as intervaginal myofascial release, trigger point work, restorative breathwork and visualization. This process realigns your pelvis both physically and energetically. For all stages of a woman’s life, Holistic Pelvic Care enhances the flow of pelvic organ energy and restores your pelvic bowl as the creative center of your body.

Learn More About Holistic Pelvic Care Treatments

The first session is generally longer than the follow-up sessions. A brief history will be taken where you will discuss you goals for the treatment with your . This is a great opportunity to discuss and questions or concerns you may have. The therapist will review the female anatomy and muscles with you, taking care to answer any further questions.

After the question and answer part of the session is complete, the therapist will begin with some external work and then, if you are comfortable, they will check in with you about moving on to internal work. Internal work involves the therapist inserting a lubricated, gloved finger into the vagina to assess the musculature and connective tissue. Exercise and gentle massage techniques will then be initiated for the rest of the session.

Follow-up sessions are usually a little shorter, between 30-45 minutes. Generally speaking you can expect anywhere from 1-6 sessions depending on your treatment goals.
