What brought you to Portland Healing Space?
It was the integrity of the space and the people. Together, they create a welcoming presence that allows authentic exploration and healing.
How did you decide to become a Naturopath?
Healing has been part of my life’s vision for as long as I can remember. As a kid, I grew up surrounded by majesty nature and spent many summer days exploring the Oregon, witnessing and experiencing the magic and power of the natural world. I also naturally enjoy people and almost spontaneously understand them. I want to connect with people and help them to deepen their experiences and improve their lives.
Combining my effortless connection with nature, people, and healing was a natural process; however, the schoolwork that followed was a bit more rigorous. I chose Naturopathic Medicine over other practices because of its ability to integrate different perspectives and modalities, providing both structure and flexibility.

It is the goal of Naturopathic medicine to reach beyond symptom removal to address the underlying cause of the illness. Individualized treatment ensures the root of the problem has been addressed; this type of healing is designed to last a lifetime.
My clinical areas of specialization is mind-body medicine. The following is just a sampling of the tools commonly used:
Mind-Body Medicine and counseling: The goal here is to understand the signature of a person (the way they think, feel, his or her natural constitution, and tendency toward certain patterns) through interpersonal communication with the patient to ultimately integrate processes throughout the individual.
Functional Medicine: A systems-oriented approach that engages both patient and practitioner in a therapeutic partnership.
European Biotherapeutic Drainage: Offers effective, yet gentle detoxification
Flower Essences: These are solutions made from flowers or single plants soaked in alcohol. The essence of the plant (its personality and healing properties) help gently lead the patient toward emotional healing.
Herbal Medicine: This modality harnesses the wisdom and healing power of plants.
Homeopathy: Holistic system of medicine operating under the law of similars.
Hydrotherapy: Utilizes the immune-stimulating properties of water. (e.g. cold showers are great for your immune system!)
Lifestyle Counseling: Daily practices (diet, sleep, and other mental/emotional/physical habits) that introduce small changes that promote lifelong health.
Nutritional Consultation: Dietary advice that simultaneously treats and prevents chronic disease. As Hippocrates said, “Let your food be your medicine.”
Nutritional supplements: Often I see people either taking supplements they don’t need, aren’t taking ones they do need, or taking them in combinations that are not helpful to their healing journeys. I offer high-quality supplements that provide focused nutritional support and guidance about which ones to use and how to best combine them for healing.
