TRACY'S HEALING JOURNEY AND HOW SHE CAME TO HER WORK
I believe deep transformative healing occurs where body and consciousness meet. The degree that we are able to be present is the degree that we can access our own healing energy, a power that lies within every one.
Where body, energy and consciousness meet lies the whole breadth of our existence; past, present, and, in the form of will and intention, our future. The feelings and thoughts we have about these things also lives there, making our physical form the densest layer of our energetic anatomy. Therefore working with body, emotion and consciousness provides a direct pathway to healing old wounds, grounding more fully in your life presently, and expanding your possibilities of what the future may hold.
My curiosity has long lived in how mind and emotion effects the physical. It is the driving force behind all my work, as a facilitator, and as an artist. It was in fact, through choreography, that I first began to explore this theme. My dance pieces were “rich with psychological lures”, as a reviewer once described. Once I became a Pilates instructor, I was struck by how often a simple movement, done with conscious awareness, would bring emotional release.
The books of Barbara Brennan, recommend by a friend, soon entered my life. They quickly became source material for many dances, and a developing movement practice that involved awakening the chakras. After many years, I decided I should work with someone who had trained with her, and found local healer Jodi Walsh. I entered an intensive course of healings that lasted over three years, and I was discovering and moving things I had not even known were locked inside of me. Jodi was using her own talents, the Brennan work, and something new to me called Core Energetics.
My own training as a Core Energetics practitioner began intuitively and quickly. At this time I was facilitating Energy Work sessions that incorporated a lot of the Core Energetics techniques I had learned from my own process, but felt I needed a more structured understanding of the work in order to better help people. In 2013 I dove into a deeper course of practitioner training lead by Ken Goldberg. I am now entering the last few months of the program, and it has been a journey more wild and rich than I could have imagined. The guidance has created both an incredible cognitive journey to learn the work, as well as an experiential process of self-knowledge and transformation. I am incredibly grateful.
The core interest for me, however, has not changed, only evolved, as I meet more and more people on the path…. What do we embody that serves us and what hinders us? What has occurred in our development that continues to effect us because of how it altered our energy and our body? How can I help others to locate distortions and support them in developing tools that will untangle them?
Through this journey I have learned that to live a life where you do not fear what is on the inside is the only way to truly live a life of freedom. Your birthright is your own vibrancy, your own unique way that you can bring your authentic self into the world and let it flourish.
Be vibrant and flourish!
